“Flying an elephant across the river is against the rule. Do not put your feet on the opposite seat.”
Nothing like using Chinese chess to convey a politeness message to the Hong Kong people, by the bus company. By the way, my translation is literal, the original Chinese verse sounds cleverly poetic.

Mini-mango

These mini-mangoes from China look and taste just like regular-size mangoes, except you have to exert 4 times the effort and sloppiness to peel and eat them to equal to one regular mango. Not worth the novelty if you ask me.

Blogging through Posterous

by Kingsley on March 24, 2011

Even with the major update to iBlogger for the iPhone, the archaic interface is left intact and leaves much to be desired. When it comes to simplicity blogging on the go, nothing comes close to Posterous. And the best part is Posterous lets you post to anywhere, including to my WordPress blog.

Free iPad 2 for Hong Kong residents

by Kingsley on March 3, 2011

No kidding. The Hong Kong government is giving away HK$6,000 to every Hong Kong resident over 18, because the government monetary reserve is overflowing with money. With the top-of-the-line iPad 2 priced at HK$5,688, the $6K will be more than enough to cover the cost of a new iPad, with spare change for the Smart Cover.

Then of course some of us will use the money to help alleviate the rapid inflation on food and other basic necessities.

Malware on Android

by Kingsley on March 3, 2011

iPhone app developers hated the tightly controlled Apple approval process. But for users, we should be thankful Apple stood by its rigorous screening from the get-go, so we don’t have to worry about reading headlines like this:

Google pulls 21 apps in Android malware scare

…Once downloaded, the apps root the user’s device using a method like rageagainstthecage, then use an Android executable file (APK) to nab user and device data, such as your mobile provider and user ID. Finally, the app acts as a wide-open backdoor for your device to quietly download more malicious code…

At least 50,000 people already downloaded the apps. If I were an Android user, I’d be petrified.

White iPad

Yup, there’s a white iPad 2. That’s all I need to know.

iPad 2 in white?

by Kingsley on March 2, 2011

Everyone I know who skipped out on the first iPad last year is anticipating the iPad 2 announcement today, including me. And if there’s going to be a white iPad, I don’t think it even matters what improvements or specs it will gain, it’s going to be huge. Yes, we are that shallow.
